Liquidity Heatmap

The heatmap shows resting limit orders through time: bright bands are walls. Walls stop price, attract price, and — when they vanish — tell you they were never meant to be filled. Four ways to read them.

intermediate4 patterns
HM-01

Wall bounce

Price falls into a thick band and the band holds: bids absorb the selling. First touch of a fresh wall is the highest-probability bounce.

Invalidated when price closes through the band.

HM-02

Eat-through breakout

Price grinds into a wall and the wall thins with every touch: someone is consuming it. When the band fades, the path is clear — breakout continuation.

Invalidated when the wall refreshes to full size.

HM-03

Ghost wall

A huge band appears, price approaches, the band vanishes before the touch. It was bait — information about intent to push price, not to trade there.

Treat as noise if the wall survives an actual touch.

HM-04

pdPOC magnet

Late in a quiet session, price drifts toward the previous day's point of control — the level with the most agreed-upon volume. Unfinished business gets finished.

Invalidated by a strong impulse away with rising OI.
