Market Structure
Before flow, structure: where the swings are and what breaking one means. Four patterns that are the shared vocabulary of every chart in this library.
Uptrend anatomy (HH / HL)
Higher highs and higher lows, each pullback shallower than the push. As long as the sequence holds, longs have the field.
Broken when a low undercuts the previous higher low.
Break of structure (BoS)
Price takes out the last swing high with conviction: the uptrend re-asserts itself. Continuation, not reversal — look to join on the retest.
Invalidated when price closes back below the broken high.
Change of character (CHoCH)
The first higher low that breaks in an uptrend. One break is not a downtrend yet — but the character changed, and longs stop being automatic.
Cancelled when price immediately reclaims the broken low.
Liquidity grab
Equal lows build a shelf of stops; one wick spears through them and price instantly reverses. The stops were the target — the trend was not changing.
Becomes a real breakdown if price closes below and stays.
